2 comment(s)Quiet time of Mumbai
Labels: City life, Maharashtra, Mumbai
This is what I usually miss cause I am not an early morning person, not even close to that, and especially, not on weekends :o) Can you imagine Mumbai being so peaceful and quiet? Even if it is taken on a smaller side street...

Labels: City life, Maharashtra, Mumbai
If you have no idea what cricket is all about and, more importantly, are interested in understanding the basic rules, read here. I might be embarrassed that my hindi is still very bad - no good excuse for that - but cricket I understand and even like it... well, the shortest version, Twenty20, anyway =)

Labels: City life, Maharashtra, Mumbai
On an early morning, trucks bring from the nearby docks loads of fish, which are being divided amongst different fish mongers. The fish mongers then take baskets full of fish, put them on the top of the head and carry them to different locations of Mumbai. This was happening near VT station, so many of these fish mongers went to the station and boarded local trains. Even though there is a separate compartment for people delivering fish or vegetables - luggage compartment - some of them get into a general compartment and well, it's not a very pleasant ride for the rest of the travelers then... :o)

Labels: City life, Maharashtra, Mumbai
Yesterday we went for a lovely Xmas music concert at NCPA Tata theater. There were several choirs participating at the festival and all of them did a really great job, lots of "goose bump" moments for me, but Stop-Gaps stole the show. Great energy, beautiful music, the cutest kids in colourful costumes and even a dog, all in a background of nice Xmas decorations. Aaahh, now I am ready for this holiday season, even if I won't see a single snowflake once again :o) I had earlier posted on their Broadway show here. Now I am looking forward to their next show around Easter. Highly recommended!
